Let er rip
Since my unintended pronouncement in a news article recently, have decided to turn this loose and see if anyone is interested in discussing 'the price of rice in China' as it were. So far, just me and Nelson... anyhow, if you stay to follow, Welcome! LB

It's time I SAID something...
And I will try to keep saying it until someone listens.
Some moron (hate to use that word cos' I don't know the person unless the announcer was ad-libbing) on tonight's 6 O'Clock Local News said the folks in Orlando were LUCKY cos' gas there was only $3.51 a gallon.
Say Baaaaaaaaa! Gas was way over-priced BEFORE the junk in the Middle East (where there will still be a mega-dearth of Democracy, always has been, it's all about keeping women down) made an ill-fated appearance... government by the net will never work -- look at Libya, Rebels to be unsuccessful -- Egypt is unusually stable and affluent compared to all the other ME countries, Tunisia's govt not done and hasn't really changed except the guy at the top...
BUT, back to gas prices -- 2 big problems:
1. While I'm pretty sure we regulate pork bellies (the commodity that makes bacon) our brilliant leaders refuse to regulate oil --
2. -- the commodity that factors into the price of every thing cos that's where we get our energy! (talk about chilling any recovery)
So the price is set by the GREED, FEAR, and PERCEPTIONS about the state of the world and how that will impact the trader's (each other) porcine-brains -- talk about the fox in the hen house?! their guesses are the only movers of value -- has iffin' nothing to do with supply and demand, isn't that what is supposed to drive value? If I'm wrong, someone please show me how...
Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! (lots of sheep, me included, under RIsinG protest)

Go with God
My Dad -- 'the Col.' -- was laid to rest yesterday with my Mom, out at Forest Lawn. I hope we can make them proud, they are missed.

Rites of Passage
Lt. Col Lloyd L. Behrendt escaped the surly bonds of earth for the last time on February 2nd, 2011. He is home with his beloved wife, Mary. The Col's sometimes gruff demeanor was a shield that masked a heart of gold, and if you wish to see his impact in this world, look to his grandchildren, Matthew, Alyson, and Benjamin... Rest in Peace, Pao.
